Mechanical door openers operate the door through the full range of opening and closing. This is more than mechanical door closers accomplish. Norton provides mechanical door openers that function either electromechanically or electrohydraulically.

The difference is in how the door opens. Electromechanical door openers operate with a door switch mounted near or on the door. Electrohydraulic openers can be opened by a switch, but also open manually.

Both styles of low energy operator hold the door open and close it securely. The electrohydraulic operator comes in either a regular duty or a robust heavy duty style. The electromechanical operator includes more choices, including a self-powered operator and styles for offices and other high end installations.
