The Von Duprin Surface Vertical Rod Device Series 8827 provides an excellent exit strategy for situations when the exterior of a door is locked. The 8827 is available in seven color finishes ensuring a suitable match for any decor. Von Duprin, comprised from the names of it's inventors Carl Prinzler, Henry H. Dupont, and the purveyor of its release Vonnegut Hardware Company first marketed in 1908, providing the highest quality door safety exit hardware for over a hundred years. Inspired by the Iroquois Theatre fire in Chicago, 1903.
